KENT - Donald L Halsey, 89, of Kent, Ohio, died June 14, 2024, at home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Galion, Ohio on May 6th, 1935. The second of 10 children. Donald was married 67 years to Ruth Anne (nee Henry) Halsey, also from Galion, Ohio. He was father to Charlie (Rose) of Huron, Mary (Marshall) Moore of Kent, Joseph of Mentor, Mark (Trisha) of Ashtabula, and Ann (Tony) Jardine of Mountain Top, PA; Grandfather to 11 and Great-grandfather to one. Don worked hard all his life and while working full-time and raising a family with his wife, earned his Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degrees from Bowling Green State University. He worked in various career roles, but the majority of his career was a school superintendent. His smile and the twinkle in his eyes were frequent and genuine.
